Sorry guys for not updating this site for so long... and the mails & messages as well.. 对不起！

I've bought a new digital piano ! This will shut those mouth who were complaining my old piano was out of tune, this and that..... anyway its a Celviano Digital Piano (Casio AP-500)

Say no more, have a look at my new baby:-

The touch is nice, feels like a real piano key ;)

At least I can produce grand piano sound with this baby !

This is a very nice piece, and I'm very sure you've heard it before.

It's quite famous especially used as background music in Chinese website with sad & love stories. I don't know the title of this music piece, however it's quite easy to memorize the melody.

Hello guys !

Sorry for being IDLING..... I just started a new job, doing SAP BW... which has a lot of workload. Anyway, I'll try to spend some time to process your music & chords request.

I just changed my guitar string... i'm using a D`adario now.. forgotten the spelling... I've been using Luthier Concert Gold string but apparently the store that i used to visit, has stop distributing Luthier... no choice... had to try something else (daddario... argh)

Since my guitar is not in the condition to produce nice sound...yet , I'll play the piano. I've tuned my piano and I'll record my piano songs on my new thinkpad lappietop. So... stay tune...

Finally, the guitar score for 光良约定 is done but with ERRORS.

I spent almost 3 months to complete this score, pathetic huh... the fact is, I do not have any music theory background at all ! To some of you, writing tabs or score is very easy. But for someone who never learn how to use quaver or crotchet , don't know how to read time signature, struggling to write the notation is very ...very dreadfully - suffering.

That is the main reason I love improvisation, because I hate to read/write music notation.

I first posted a snapshot of the premier draft for this score, asking anyone with music theory background can help me fix the score (tempo,etc,etc)

A lot emailed me, asking for the score, some promised to fix it for me.

I waited.....

2 months of waiting... no reply... where have they gone?

So I end up doing it myself... forgive me for the weird tempo ;)

I receive daily emails asking for tabs tabs tabs... what should I do? It took me 3 months to come out with 1 score with errors, how to produce scores for all my 30 video clips?

Thanks a lot, to those who understand my mail reply and wished me good luck. It really encourage me a lot to progress further.

Ok.. end of rant... the score ;)

My next score would be a Jay chow piece. Dont ask me when, I myself don't even know how long it will take. I really hope someone would come to my rescue(fix my score) so i can come out with more scores.... unless .. i pay someone.. which means the score will not be free anymore ;)

Its principal works the same with an organ, except modern organ is powered by electricity. I think it's similar to a Calliope(steam) while this is water-powered.

A hydraulophone ("water flute") is a fountain that people can play (it's a musical instrument) as well as play in. These fountains are like woodwind instruments (e.g. flutes) but they use water instead of air. The embouchure of the instrument occurs at the finger holes (referred to as "mouths"). Waterflutes often have multiple "mouths", so that a player can put each finger into a different mouth at the same time, in order to play chords, while independently manipulating each finger for separate and individual control of the embouchure of each note in a chord. A skilled hydraulist can slightly "bend" each note in order to play just intonation in any desired key, or to gently and fluidly vary intonation or temperament as a piece of music changes from one key to another.

Hydraulophones installed in parks, pools, playgrounds, etc., make playing in a fountain an educational and culturally rewarding experience.

As requested, I've downloaded the song, listened, and tried to play the song all in less than 30 minutes. Obviously I did not put much effort, who on earth can memorize the whole song and improvise it on the guitar perfectly, in just ... *i think i spent 20 minutes...* So, lower ur expectation this time :P

The moment I play the song on winamp, OMG ... the melody doesn't resonate with my ear... no wonder i never heard of this song before (only nice songs retained in my memory) Maybe it's my preferences of music(s), it might sound nice to other people ;)

Except the chorus, somehow sound ..... sweet.... yeshh I kinda like the chorus part.. ONLY. So, as promised, this is the recorded mp3 of 专属天使 ..... with the chorus part only... :P I manage to practice the song twice only, and the recorded mp3 is actually my 3rd attempt..only

If respond is good, I will 'try' my best to love this song and play a proper version, when my finger recover..

p/s : forgive the canon part , somehow just pop out .. that's the wonder of improvisation :P

LAGQ Pachelbel Canon

I first heard of Pachelbel Canon , introduced by LA Guitar Quartet. They name the song "Loose Cannon"

The loose cannon has a lot of variations played in different styles : contemporary classical, rock, jazz, avant garde, new age, bluegrass, country and flamenco ! the ukulele part makes it perfecto^

Can't deny they have superb fingerstyle, and do you guys remember the clip i posted earlier *Sunburst* it was composed by Andrew York (former-member of LAGQ) He's very good in improvising as hell too bad he left.... i like his guitar playing a lot.

So, Just relax, close your eye, enjoy the ride

As requested by some of the readers here, I'm now recording and compiling all the Jay Chow guitar songs into .mp3 for download.

A fellow reader who is a lawyer has advised me that re-writing guitar tabs for songs like jay chow, etc. will not violate any copyright rights. *hopefully* Anyhow I'll play safe by publishing one tab first , but let me get some guitar editor that runs on Vista.

Improvisation techniques

One of the important step during improvisation is to be able to play the melody and also the chord progression. In this post i shall ~~copy-paste~~ explain about 'mastering' major scale to get chords and the basic 1 is the triads.

4 Triads : Major , Minor, diminish, augmented

Minor is where you have flat keys, while aug you have sharp keys

The Basics:

Most chord progressions that you will come across are based on a formula. That formula is the harmonized major scale, or what I call the CHORD SCALE. There are exceptions to this statement, but usually, those exceptions can be traced back to the harmonized major scale as well.
